Introduction to SAEWA
The South African Equity Workers Association (SAEWA) is a trade union in South Africa registered with the Registrar of Labour at the Department of Labour (LR2/6/2/1157) in terms of the provisions of Sections 100 – 104 of the Labour Relations Act, Act 66 of 1995 as amended (LRA). SAEWA is known, operates and is identified under the following names:
- South African Electrical Workers Association;
- South African Equity Workers Association;
- Equity Union;
- SAEWA.
Mission Statement
To be a labour organisation that provides professional services and products to members in a diversity of trades, professions and occupations across a variety of economic sectors and to build relations with other, like-minded organisations both locally and internationally.
Vision Statement
To be the largest trade union in South Africa, free from financial capitalistic influences and liberated from political interference.
